  8. multipurpose system handling internal work, rebuilds, warranty, or policy
  9. situations, as well as flexible customer billable jobs. It was developed for
  10. the repair, overhaul, and assemby-type manufacturers with work order
  11. environments. SMARTS provides the recording and dispatching of work orders,
  12. transmitting of instructions on what work is required and how it is to be done,
  13. estimating, quoting, and recoding of actual costs(including labor, part and
  14. purchase orders), and gathering and analyzing of actual versus budget
  15. information. SMARTS accomplishes this by managing three management components:
  16. shop , customer, and financial. SMARTS can also include a full material
  17. management system, handling raw materials, as well as finished goods.
